Here we have a brand new 2016 Mazda MX-5 “Launch Edition,” one example of the just 1,000 copies made for the first year of the most hotly anticipated car of the last ten years. Can you guess why it isn’t sold?

The seller seller doesn’t list a price, and its safe to say they hold all the cards—better not call them up with your voice full of Miata fan-boy exuberance. They claim the intended buyer put down the $500 pre-order deposit and changed their mind before the car arrived. Maybe they had second thoughts on buying !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

but the Miata is supposed to transcend that....it has always had 50% or higher stick take rate. I was very surprised to see the numbers so low on cars.com

The MX-5 should be like the upcoming Focus RS, manual only.

This, even for a car like the Miata, they sell plenty of automatics. If they haven’t moved it, it is pretty likely because they are trying to get more than market rate for it.
